POEM: MAMA WHY!

1. I looked around

Thinking of where to go

Who to run to

Where to sleep

Food to eat

Clothes to wear

There was none

Everything I had in mind

To achieve was tarnished

2.  I went to meet mama

Where she was lying helplessly

Looking weary and hopeless

Mama why?

Why did you bring me into this world?

Mama why!

Why am I still suffering?

Despite all my hard work…

Mama why!

3. Mama looked at me

Shedding tears

Feeling my pains

My son it is well

No condition is permanent

God will surely see you through

Your pains and suffering

Will not last forever

You will prosper no matter what

  4. That was what I needed

From mama

Her words of advice

Coming deep from her heart

And I loved her for that

Mama is great

She is my treasure
